Amazon is Not Taking U.S. Pre-Orders on Disney Films CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and Maleficent (For Now)

Want to pre-order Captain America: The Winter Soldier on Blu Ray or DVD online before its September 9 release date? You can but not on Amazon.com in the United States. At least not at the moment of this post being published.

According to TheWrap, the online retail giant is not taking pre-orders for upcoming Disney movie releases like Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Maleficent due to a disagreement on how Amazon sets their pricing. Disney is known to ask a premium price for their films, but Amazon is known to just have the lowest available price no matter what big box stores like Walmart and Target prices are.

This isn't the first time Amazon has done something like this in 2014. They did the same thing to Warner Bros. with The LEGO Movie home release. Amazon and WB then settled and Amazon began selling the movie on their website.

While Amazon has drawn a hard line in the sand with physical copies of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Maleficent pre-orders, you can still order them as digital downloads on Amazon's website. This pre-order issue is sure to get resolved sooner than later because Amazon won't want to miss out on the sales numbers for two of this year's biggest movie releases.
