FREE COMIC BOOK DAY Cosplay at Carol & John's Comic Shop in Cleveland Felt Like a Mini Convention

Last weekend was Free Comic Book Day and while this post is a little late—cough, another local site was supposed to post this but never did, cough—better late than never.

The Daily SuperHero is currently located on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio and one of the area's most popular comic shops is Carol & John's Comic Shop located at Kamm's Plaza. Every year, the shop has their Free Comic Book Day midnight sale and this year's was easily its largest.

Hundreds of fans lined up the entire length of one side of the plaza and came dressed in cosplay that is worthy of any comic book convention like San Diego Comic-Con or MegaCon or C2E2. Whether it was Marvel or Star Wars or even Ghostbusters, Clevelanders came dressed to impress to get their free comics and enjoy the nearly two dozen artists doing sketches, comic book sales and comic art gallery.

"It's hard to comprehend," co-owner John Dudas said, when asked about his thoughts on the night's turnout. A valid answer since this writer has been to many of the shop's midnight sales over the years for Free Comic Book Day and this one definitely seemed like its biggest ever.
