Report: Dr. Doom to Use Doombots in the FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot

I've said this on my Twitter account multiple times and I'll say it again here... Dr. Doom is the make or break point of the Fantastic Four reboot. As the saying goes, "A great villain makes for a great movie."

Now that 20th Century Fox has reportedly cast (virtually unknown) actor Toby Kebbell as Victor Von Doom, it appears that he will not be on the only one facing Marvel's first family. According to the Nerdist, Dr. Doom will be aided by his own army of Doombots. The site reports the good doctor's Doombots will be drones that are telekinetically controlled by Doom himself.

This makes sense seeing as how Dr. Doom uses his Doombots a lot in the comics universe and in various animated series as well. On a quick side note, this does sound like Fox taking a cue from Marvel Studios' uses of drones in Iron Man 2 and potentially in Avengers: Age of Ultron since Ultron, too, uses a drone army of Ultrons.

Nothing has been confirmed by Fox so this should be taken as rumor. But Nerdist founder Chris Hardwick is hardwired into the comic book community like few others in media are, so the probability of this being true is very high as well.

The Fantastic Four reboot begins filming in Baton Rouge later this month and releases in theaters on June 19, 2015.
