Elizabeth Olsen Confirms Role as SCARLET WITCH in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, Talks Powers and Says 'She's Crazy'
Olsen has officially confirmed her role in the Avengers sequel to MTV and, in an interview with Ain't It Cool News, revealed some brief details about her character's powers.
"She's crazy. She has more things wrong with her than any character I've ever played. She can tell you where an object has been, she can tell you what your future is, she can connect with the dead and people from the past, the future, other universes, and she's the only person in this universe who's capable of doing that. She's unbelievable; it's so cool. I grew up loving 'Star Wars' and 'Lord of the Rings,' and anything that has another type of world or universe aspect to it is so fun."
Olsen's brief description of her powers kind of hint that they could be a bit different than in the comics. Which makes sense seeing as how Marvel Studios does not own the mutant version movie rights to the character (Fox does) and needs to adapt both her powers and origin story because of this. The sister in the brother-sister duo who will be introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron with actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), who will play her brother Quicksilver (a.k.a. Pietro Maximoff) and will see a variation of his powers from the comics as well as a new, adapted origin story as well.
