Is a DAREDEVIL Movie or TV Show Being Planned by Marvel? Sure Sounds Like it is!

Last year Marvel Studios reportedly proposed a sports-like trade deal with 20th Century Fox for some of their superhero movie rights properties. Fox was running out of time and actively trying to get a Daredevil reboot in production before its rights reverted back to Marvel. In a last ditch attempt to save Hornhead, Fox went to Marvel for an extension on the movie rights.

Marvel, in turn, proposed retaining the Daredevil rights but in exchange for the movie right of both the Silver Surfer and Galactus. Fox balked at that deal and Daredevil's rights went back home to Marvel.

Since Daredevil's rights have been back home, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has been asked about the hero many times throughout 2013. Mostly he's said how he and the other executives (and the creative minds) at Marvel Studios love Daredevil and they have been trying to figure out the best use of the character.

It seems like they are getting very close to something now. In an interview with Empire (via Unleash The Fanboy), Feige spoke about Daredevil and he sounds like something is right around the corner for the hero.

Daredevil is back at Marvel, and there are lots of talented people figuring out what to do with him next. We love Daredevil, there are amazing stories—the Bendis run over 5 or 6 years, running into a Brubaker run was amazing. All sorts of things before that era we could use—so I think you can bet on seeing something from Daredevil in the not to distant future.”

Phase 3 movie? Standalone movie outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phases? Or perhaps Daredevil is one of the four television series currently being developed for TV, streaming and cable.

If you're a gambling person, you should place your bets on Daredevil being one of those four series being developed. Stay tuned as this story is sure to be a hot topic moving forward.
