THE FLASH Confirmed to be Moving Forward as a TV Show - UPDATE

On the day of Warner's big Hall H panel at Comic-Con a report was released stating how The Flash was rumored to be in development as a movie and it would be released in 2016. This report now seems to be partially correct.

UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter is still holding strong and saying a Flash movie is also in development at Warner Bros.

According to Deadline reporter Nellie Andreeva, The Flash has been in development but apparently not as a movie (or maybe it still is as well). It is being said to be in development as the next CW television show a la Smallville in the past and the current hit Arrow.

"I’ve learned that the network is fast tracking Flash, a drama project based on the DC character from the Arrow team of co-creators Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg and director David Nutter. The CW is expected to discuss the project at today’s TCA presentation. I hear there is an idea is to introduce The Flash on Arrow next season before spinning his off into his own series before spinning off into his own series.
"I hear Flash will be written by Berlanti, Kreisberg and DC Entertainment's Geoff Johns who also has written for Arrow. Nutter, who helmed the Arrow pilot, will direct the potential pilot, while Berlanti and Kreisberg are expected to run the potential series. Marc Guggenheim, who developed and executive produces Arrow with Berlanti and Kreisberg, is not involved in Flash as he busy with Arrow, now heading into its second season."

Also being reported to be a priority for the network,  expanding the DC TV universe looks to be the current plan now. But this brings up the question of what will happen with The Flash on the big screen? Will this TV show lead into an appearance in a future Justice League movie? Or will the TV show Flash just be one of the many comic incarnations of the speedster while a movie version could still be in the works?

Lots of questions right now regarding Warner Bros. DC movie universe and how/if it relates to its TV universe. Bottom line, it's not really a Justice League movie without The Flash... right?
