THE AVENGERS 2 Opinion: Why Vin Diesel is Probably Not the Vision

A few weeks back actor Vin Diesel posted to his Facebook fan page that he was going to be meeting with Marvel Studios. Then on Tuesday June 9, Diesel updated his Facebook fan page with a photo of him standing in front of the cover of the second issue of The Avengers comic book and some text saying he just got out of his Marvel Studios meeting.

"Marvel meeting today... 

Only the people in the room can tell you what was discussed... 

P.s. Thanks to Our page, for pushing to make it happen... you know I get tunnel vision with my work... and after that meeting today... wow!"

After this update, fans and websites are starting to read too deeply into Diesel's Facebook text. Some are citing that his use of "tunnel vision" is a hint that he could be playing Vision. But there's a big problem with this that those fans and sites are completely overlooking. (Click right here if you're not familiar with Vision.)

He looks the part but will he be Vision?

Vision cannot be on the big screen before Ultron because Ultron creates Vision. At least this is how the story goes in Marvel's comic book universe. Some movie adaptation liberties are being made by writer/director Joss Whedon to change Vision's creation and origin story. On a quick side note, The Daily SuperHero absolutely loves the idea of Diesel playing Vision because he has the look of the android.

Unfortunately, unless there's a change of origin, it is doubtful Diesel will be Vision simply because that photo was him in front of The Avengers issue No. 2 is more of a telling sign the actor will be in The Avengers Sequel. With the ensemble sequel releasing in theaters before an Ant-Man movie, and Ant-Man is the guy who creates Ultron, having Diesel be Vision just seems out of place and messes with continuity.

Perhaps Marvel will have the Ant-Man solo movie take place years in the past and even before the first Iron Man. If this is the case, then maybe Vision could be introduced in The Avengers 2 but it's still a tough continuity pill to swallow.

Whether or not Diesel will be Vision remains to be seen but it's beginning to sound like he may seriously be Thanos over all other possible character options right now. Or Marvel Studios will shock fans and he'll be someone else.

Patience is a virtue right now even though is sucks to be patient while waiting for Marvel to make new movie announcements.
