THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2: Director Marc Webb Teases a Much Larger Universe in the Fourth Film... Sinister Six?

Comic-Con is like Christmas for adults that lasts for four and a half days. Take that youngsters and your one day on December 25.

Seriously though, there's a ton of news, rumors and more coming from all angles in San Diego right now with The Amazing Spider-Man 2 leading some of the charge with graphics and imagery for next summer's movie blanketing hotels and buildings near the convention center and in the Gaslamp Quarter.

Director Marc Webb fueled the fire of news for the Spider-Man sequel by talking to Movies.com (via CBM) about the sequel.

"The fourth one was a little bit of a surprise. We always talked about there being a set of three movies, but there may be elements that expand outside Spider-Man that could fulfill that fourth film"

Sounds like Webb was genuinely surprised when Sony announced a theatrical release date for a fourth Spidey movie. He also teased that bigger things are coming for Spider-Man, starting in the second movie of the rebooted franchise.

"[I]f you pay attention to this film that's coming out, you may get a feeling and sense of what's to come in the future."
Now that sounds like a hint that a possible Sinister Six showdown is coming in the fourth movie seeing as how the villain count in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is grown from just Electro and Rhino to also including a rumored Green Goblin and Black Cat.

Stay tuned as Sony's panel at SDCC on Friday is sure to reveal many more secrets to Spider-Man's growing movie universe.
