Whoops! CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 Actor Frank Grillo Teases 'Evolution' of CROSSBONES, Then Deletes Tweet

Marvel Studios is very protective of specific plot points while their films are in development or production. The Daily SuperHero knows this first hand and now it seems actor Frank Grillo, who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. Strike Team Agent Brock Rumlow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, knows this first hand too.

Grillo has been pretty active on his Twitter account tweeting about his time in Cleveland while filming the Cap sequel. He also has been teasing his character in the film using the hashtag "#Rumlow" here and there. But his recent social media conversation with a fan looks to have revealed a bit too much and Marvel must've told Grillo to delete one part of his Twitter convo.

Here's a screenshot of the conversation, via CBM.

The final tweet in this convo was the one deleted from Grillo's account. A telling sign that he gave out too much information and Marvel Studios had to intervene.

What is interesting is that it sounds like the comic book villain will be coming to the big screen soon but maybe not in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The whole things where Grillo says, "What starts one place eventually ends someplace else. #evolution" is a really big clue. Now if that tweet wasn't deleted then it was would less intriguing but whenever there's something removed, that means something big. Like a major plot point and in this case a plot point for a character.

Let's sidetrack for a moment and speculate on this quickly. Maybe, just maybe, Rumlow takes a page out of Emil Blonsky's book from The Incredible Hulk and asks to be injected with a super soldier serum knock-off at the end of Captain America 2, thus becoming Crossbones for future movies in the MCU. Just a thought.

Fans may have to wait for Crossbones' big screen appearance, with his mask on, but it seems like that day will eventually come. Especially since Grillo teased the "evolution" of the character and he is signed on to a multi-picture deal as well.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier releases in theaters on April 4, 2014.
