TRANSFORMERS 4: It Appears Optimus Prime is Getting His Old School 80s Look

Filming for the Michael Bay's fourth Transformers movie continues in Texas and based on look of one of the vehicles that is a focus of the production, it seems like Optimus Prime is getting an old school look for at least part of Transformers 4.

Back in the 1980s, Optimus was known for being a red, over-the-engine truck cab. When Bay decided to not use this style of truck for the first three Transformers movies, some hardcore fans were not happy. Now it looks like those fans are about to get their wish. Kind of.

A rusted over-the engine cab has been seen filming scenes in Texas and if you look closely enough at the photos below, you can see there are signs of flames on this rust bucket. Those flames looks very similar to the ones seen on Optimus Prime in the previous three films and on his updated, modern vehicle look for the fourth movie.

Take a look for yourself and perhaps this means Optimus has taken on a less flashy look since the end of Transformers: Dark of the Moon and for the start of Transformers 4.

Quick refresher, here's Optimus' look back in the 80s with the over-the-engine cab look.

And here's the over-the-engine cab that is being seen on the Transformers 4 set, with flames.

Finally, here's the official look of Optimus in Transformers 4.
