THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: Sony Appears to be Preparing For a SINISTER SIXFinale

Potential SPOILER ALERTS!

Sony and Columbia Pictures are building toward something big with their newest Spider-Man franchise. In The Amazing Spider-Man there was only one main villain to deal with, the Lizard. But it was made clear that Norman Osborn was lurking in the shadows as well.

Now in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 it is beginning to sound like things are being put into play so that the third movie, in this installment of the franchise, will result in a villain ensemble film with the Sinister Six.

Friends over at ComicBookMovie.com may have uncovered information stating that not only will Norman Osborn become the Green Goblin at some point in the sequel but actor Colm Feore has also been cast as the Vulture. In case you are not familiar with the Vulture, click right here to check out his bio on Marvel's website.

To quickly recap, as of right now we know the Lizard is in jail due to the events in The Amazing Spider-Man. We also know both Electro and the Rhino are main villains in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 but we might have origins told for not only those two villains but for the Green Goblin and the Vulture too.

So this gives us Green Goblin, Lizard, Electro, Rhino and Vulture which is five of six members needed to make up a movie version of the Sinister Six. In the comics, the original villain team comprised of Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Vulture, Electro, Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio. Obviously, it appears that director Marc Webb has taken some liberties in adapting the Sinister Six's movie version lineup.

But who will the last member be in what could be titled, "The Amazing Spider-Man 3: Sinister Six" as the third film in this franchise? Just a thought, but remember the end credits scene in The Amazing Spider-Man when Dr. Curt Connors was visited by someone who then disappeared in the shadows? Maybe that was a tease for Mysterio, who could be coming in the third movie.

Lots of this is guessing and speculation and maybe, just maybe, there will be more set-up in The Amazing Spider-Man 3, with a fourth film in the franchise following a threequel simply called, "Spider-Man vs. Sinister Six."

Just typing that potential movie title sent shivers down The Daily SuperHero's spine...

UPDATE! Sony has announced release dates for third and fourth Spider-Man movies in this franchise on 6/10/16 and 5/4/18. Sinister Six showdown in 2018??
