STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT 3 Teased By EA CFO But Nothing Has Been Confirmed... Yet

This may not be movie related for superheroes or even Star Wars but The Daily SuperHero cannot help to write about anything and everything regarding the Star Wars Battlefront video game franchise whenever new and intriguing information is said about it. Big fan here!

Even since alleged beta video was leaked for Star Wars Battlefront 3 a few weeks back—and there was even older footage leaked a few years back—fans of the franchise (this guy included) have been impatiently waiting for an official announcement of the threequel. Unfortunately, developers have been bought out and this franchise has been in a constant state of limbo for a very long time now.

After Disney announced their Star Wars video game partnership with Electronic Arts, many fans assumed Battlefront 3 was once again a possibility since EA owned (and shut down) the franchise's original developer, Pandemic Studios. EA's CFO Blake Jorgensen was recently talking about Star Wars video games and mentioned Battlefront at the 2013 STIFEL Technology Conference last week.

"The opportunity to do a new Battlefront, for example, which is one of the very popular Star Wars games, or some of the other traditional games that were made, is very exciting," Jorgensen said, via Complex.com. "These aren't movie games, per se; these are stand-alone games," he said. "But obviously they would come out near the movies and be able to tailgate off of some of the buzz that will be created around the new Star Wars movies."

After reading this quote, it doesn't mean anything and Battlefront was used as an example. Some writers and websites are already over hyping this quote implying that a Battlefront 3 game is in the works. Nowhere does Jorgensen say this.

But could Battlefront 3 be in the future? Anything is possible right now but not based on Jorgensen's comments. However, the below video is rumored to be actual combat in a new Battlefront 3 game that is supposedly in development.

Stay tuned because Star Wars video game fans everywhere are still waiting for the gaming franchise to make a comeback on home consoles. And this could seriously happen this week at E3 2013 in Los Angeles.
