FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot Pushed Back From June to July and Maybe More, in Vancouver

While the Fantastic Four reboot has an official release date of March 6, 2015, there has been no casting news about it. But there was an official date set to start principle photography in Vancouver.

Per Production Weekly, Marvel's first family was originally slated to start production on June 17. Then, last week the website updated their update by saying production was moved back to "mid-July and through mid-September."

With no cast on board it seems way to early for Fox to begin filming the reboot, nearly 21 months before its release. Even Marvel Studios films their movies closer to the release dates. Marvel is currently filming Captain America: The Winter Soldier less than one year before it hits theaters in April.

About two weeks ago (and why this wasn't published back then by me is unknown), one of The Daily SuperHero's sources said the script is still being worked on and it not finalized yet. This may have actually led to the delay announcement last week.

Now this is just a guess but it's sounding like this delay could be only the first and another delay may occur because without a completed script and a cast, you can't start filming a movie. Unless Fox can work some magic, logic says that it sounds like director Josh Trank may not start production on his reboot until as later in the year and it'll spill over into early next year until it wraps.

Maybe filming will begin in mid-July but the clock is ticking right now and things aren't looking like they'll start on time in just over a month from now. Stay tuned as this story is sure to develop in the coming weeks.
