X-Men: Day of Future Past officially has Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen confirmed to reprise X-Men roles ... again

Several weeks back, X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer took to social media and posted a message (to Twitter) saying that both former X-Men actors Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen were going to be part of the next X-movie.

Since then, both Stewart and McKellen have denied knowing that they were going to reprise their roles as the older versions of Professor X and Magneto ... until now.

Stewart finally confirmed both actors are officially signed on to appear in the new X-flick.

"I’m very happy to report that Bryan Singer is coming back to direct the movie," Stewart told Hero Complex in an interview. "I'm very happy that my lovely friend Ian McKellen is going to be with me.

"I don’t know anyone else who is to be involved in the project. Maybe it’s just the two of us!" he added. "That would be a movie! Magneto and Xavier’s conversations…"

Stewart continued but said he didn't know anymore details.

"Maybe once the holidays are over, more information will begin to come through. I have a vague idea of the time commitments, but I don’t know where we’re going to shoot. But I’m greatly looking forward to it."

The amount of screen time both of the actors will get in X-Men: Days of Future Past remains to be seen but the fact they are finally locked into the movie (again) is exciting. X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to star Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and potentially many more names to follow in the coming months. Stay tuned.
