Ghostbusters 3 Will Not Have Bill Murray and Will 'Pass the Torch' to a New Team

There is one movie which has possibly one of the largest buzzes surrounding it without even having a finished script and it's easily Ghostbusters 3.

Earlier this year, actor Bill Murray was said to have read a script and shredded it before sending it back to Dan Aykroyd with a note saying how old, fat guys shouldn't be fighting ghosts (paraphrased). More recently, Aykroyd said writing help was brought on to give the script a face lift.

Obviously a face lift is being done since Aykroyd has confirmed Murray will not be a part of the next movie and the torch will be passed to a new generation of Ghostbusters.

"No, I can tell you [Murray] won't be involved," Aykroyd confirmed to the UK's Metro website. "It's sad but we're passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill.

"My preference would be to have him involved but at this point he doesn't seem to be coming and we have to move on. It's time to make the third one."

So there you have it. No Dr. Peter Venkman (even though they should still mention what happened to the character in the next flick) and there will be a new group of Ghostbusters to potentially move the franchise forward with future sequels. If it doesn't flop, of course, and it would bring tears to the eyes of this writer if it was a big failure.

Stay tuned to The Daily SuperHero as more information about Ghostbusters 3 should be leaked now that the Murray-saga has finally ended.
