This past week Jessica Biel was in talks to play Viper in next summer's The Wolverine but then talks broke down between her and 20th Century Fox. It didn't take the studio long to get back into talks for the role with someone else.
Russian actress, Svetlana Khodchenkova, is said to be in talks for the role of the potential villain in Wolverine's next big screen movie, per TwitchFilm. Khodchenkova is an unknown in the United States but she did have a small role in the cast of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy; as Irina.
Viper (also known as Madame Hydra in the comics) is a skilled martial artist with telelportation powers and has also worked with the Silver Samurai in the comics—who is the main villain in The Wolverine.
