The time has come for Marvel to end many of their long-running comic book titles and they have officially announced they will be canceling nine titles for the Marvel NOW! re-launch starting this fall.
As their competition did one year ago, Marvel is following suit and the following titles are being canceled after the issue number listed for a reboot.
-Captain America #19
-Fantastic Four #611
-FF #23
-Incredible Hulk #15
-Invincible Iron Man #527
-New Mutants #50
-The Mighty Thor #22
-Uncanny X-Men #20
-X-Men Legacy #275
Marvel is making a bold statement even though they are more or less following the competition now by taking the path to start many of their books fresh at No. 1 again, but will it work?
The most important part of this plan is who will be writing and who will be drawing each title. Right now only Captain America (Rick Remender and John Romita Jr.) and Iron Man (Kieron Gillen and Greg Land) have been confirmed to have new creative teams, while others are sure to be announced this week during the 2012 San Diego Comic Con.
