Man of Steel: Comic Con Footage Detailed as Being Darker Tone and Possibly Brutal Too

Warner Bros. / DC

Initially, we posted amateur video from the Man of Steel footage shown exclusively at Comic Con but per the request of the studio, we had to take it down. Instead we will tell you about a few brief scenes that was shown in this approximate two and a half minutes of footage.

For the first minute and a half of the footage, it played exactly as the teaser trailer with the voice-over done by Russell Crowe, who plays Jor-El in the new Superman film. Then about two-thirds of the way through there was a scene of Superman being escorted by military-like people. However, the footage we saw was too grainy and blurry at times to see if Supes was handcuffed or not but it did look like he could have been. (Check out the photo below which is the only screenshot we could find from this footage, we know we should've taken screenshots ourselves now.)

There was a quick scene showing Superman and Lois Lane kissing and there was another scene with what appeared to be an army pointing tanks and weapons at Superman.

In the only other scene we could really make out, in the low quality taping we saw of this, it appeared Superman was being thrown through a building (or thrown through something at least) and coming out the other side and hitting a wall next to whatever he was thrown through.

Finally, it did appear that Krypton was shown exploding in one quick shot too.

It appears Man of Steel does indeed have a much darker tone—think similar to Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy since he is also a producer on this film—with a visually brutal action style. (Thank you director Zach Snyder!) General Zod is the main antagonist in the film, so we can assume Superman was being thrown through the building by none other than him.

Hopefully, Warner Bros. and DC will be providing more footage or at least a better trailer that gives the fans some more visuals of Superman in action sooner than later. Stay tuned.
