Warner Bros. and DC Moving Forward With The Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Still Not Sure of Direction For Green Lantern

Warner Bros. and DC Comics are on the move after signing writers to pen scripts for a Justice League of America and Wonder Woman movies. They now have announced plans, per Variety,  for many of their other superhero characters.

Included in this list of characters under development for a future movie are: The Flash, Aquaman (please let Entourage star Adrian Grenier play the lead out of principle, ha), Shazam, Lobo and The Suicide Squad.

One of the characters who is still in a state of confusion is Green Lantern. This is due to the fact Warner and DC have no clue if they want to completely reboot the franchise after the first film flopped in the theaters or try to rebuild what has already been on screen.

With a new Superman film, Man of Steel, on it's way next summer, this movie could very well be the first of DC's new movie universe and all other solo movies will follow its lead. Hopefully, Man of Steel is successful otherwise starting off bad out of the gate is not a good sign for future DC movies.

As of right now, Warner and DC are waiting until The Dark Knight Rises is released before making any announcements about Batman's future. It is quite obvious Batman will be rebooted to fit into a new universe where all solo films will fit together and lead into a big JLA movie, a la The Avengers concept that Marvel and Disney have been able to make a ton of money doing.

Other whispers in the wind say Warner and DC are also talking with writer/director Christopher Nolan to more or less give him full rein (as an executive producer) to help DC's characters connect and have a successful universe in order to compete with Marvel and Disney's huge head start.

Two character names who haven't been mentioned, and are also have been part of JLA teams in the comics, are Hawkman and J'onn J'onzz, the Martian Manhunter. J'onzz could be a very intriguing character since it could be big on sci-fi and tell the story of how he is the only one of his species on Earth and was brought here for experimentation. (Then again, J'onzz is one of the few DC characters who this journalist really likes so there might be a bit of bias in play here too.)
