CCO for both Pixar and Walt Disney Animation, John Lasseter,
recently spoke with Collider regarding the potential of a Pixar-Marvel animated movie in the future.
"Well, I can’t say anything about that because Marvel just got [here]—[they’ve only] been [here] a couple years as part of the Disney company, we’ve been [here] six years as part of the Disney company. And at Pixar, we stay focused on making original films. Even our sequels are kind of created internally and we come up with ideas [on our own]. I’m also leading the Walt Disney Animation Studio and all of that. These studios are filmmaker driven studios, so if a filmmaker comes to me and says, ‘Hey, I wanna do this,’ then I would be really open to it."
Bottom line, Lasseter has interest as long as the right guy/gal comes along and has the vision and story to make a Pixar-Marvel animated movie become a reality.
Because of this new information, we here at The Daily SuperHero started thinking about which Marvel properties would make a great animated movie more than a live-action movie and put together the following list (in no particular order).
Quick note: we are going to assume the licensing rights Marvel Studios has given out to other studios like Sony, Fox, etc. are only for live-action movies and Disney can use any of their Marvel properties in animated form (this is just our assumption, we have no proof if this is the truth or not).
- Guardians of the Galaxy - There have been rumors, in the past, this space-themed team of galactic heroes could be in the works by Marvel. But having both a talking raccoon and tree are easier to make believable in an animated flick than in live-action with CG, in our opinion.

Rocket Raccoon (Marvel)
- Fantastic Four/The Incredibles Crossover - Fans of The Incredibles have longed for a sequel to the 2004 hit and since they were influence by Marvel's first family, how cool would it be to have a crossover with both families? Yeah it's a reach of an idea, but a great one regardless!
- The Thunderbolts - Not the original team but Norman Osborn's team of super-villains who are portrayed as being heroes in order to fulfill Osborn's hidden and evil agenda. Seeing an animated Venom is the real draw with this option.

"New" Thunderbolts
- Pet Avengers - This idea seems right up Pixar's alley seeing as how they want original stories and they could easily craft something new and unique around Marvel's greatest team of pet heroes. (This is an idea we will definitely explore in a future column, since it sounds genius.)

Pet Avengers (Marvel)
- X-Static - This suggestion is for one reason and one reason alone—Doop. Every animated movie seems to have that one character who is cute but a bit "off" and Doop would fit that role.
