Iron Man 3 just got a new villain when actor James Badge Dale joined the cast to play Lieutenant Colonel Eric Savin, also known as Coldblood.
Who the heck is Coldblood?
Great question because he is one of the third/fourth tier characters in the Marvel Universe not known by the mainstream at all.
In the comic universe Savin is a military man who is caught in an explosion, dead for about two minutes, then re-animated and turned into a cyborg by the woman he loves, Lieutenant Gina Dyson.
How Coldblood fits into Iron Man 3 is yet to be known. What we do know is the film is reportedly based off of Warren Ellis' Extremis story arc and Sir Ben Kingsley is rumored to be playing a villain (fingers still crossed he is the Mandarin). Since Extremis is based off of nanotechnology principles, it would be assumed Coldblood could be more nanotech cyborg instead of robotic cyborg.
All theories right now but you can also assume Coldblood will be the lesser villain since Kingsley is the bigger acting name and Coldblood could simply be Kingsley's patsy in Iron Man 3.
