George Lucas told Empire magazine he is moving in another direction from his own companies.

"I’m moving away from the company, I’m moving away from all my businesses, I’m finishing all my obligations and I’m going to retire to my garage with my saw and hammer and build hobby movies. I’ve always wanted to make movies that were more experimental in nature, and not have to worry about them showing in movie theaters."

Based on Lucas' quote it is evident he is moving in a different direction from his own company in order to make low budget films he wants to make while Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound will continue to work on big-budget Hollywood films.

Having created the Star Wars Saga must be a tough thing to shoulder (yeah, he's filthy stinking rich but there is a lot that comes with making lots of money) especially since the prequel trilogy did not hit well with the fan base and critics so Lucas seem content with taking his talents to a low-key level and focus on other passion projects he has had ideas for.

However, you can bet he will still have a big hand in Star Wars projects and the fifth Indiana Jones film in the future. Those are his babies.
