Captain America 2 News: Cap in Modern Day, S.H.I.E.L.D. Could Play a Role in the Movie and The Avengers 2 Connection

The Avengers is out and as coverage of the film dwindles, reports of all the stand-alone films are going to ramp up.
Captain America 2 is set for release in 2014 and Marvel Studios president of production, Kevin Feige, spoke about the basic plot for Cap's next adventure.
"Cap, who is stuck in the modern day with no friends or family, there will be some revelations of who is still alive from his days in WWII, but SHIELD [sic] and Nick Fury are kind of his confidants right now," Feige said to CHUD.com. "So... [between Iron Man 3 and Thor 2], Captain America 2 will be most closely associated with Avengers."
Based on Feige's comment, it sounds like there's the possibility of instead of having a S.H.I.E.L.D. stand-alone film they may incorporate characters like Nick Fury and possibly Hawkeye and Black Widow into the next Cap film. However, this is just speculation and this is not confirmed.
