The Daredevil franchise has been idle since the Ben Affleck-led film failed to live up to it's hype back in 2003.
Recently, there has been news swirling around 20th Century Fox, who has been planning a reboot of The Man Without Fear on the big screen. They hired director David Slade (30 Days of Night) to helm the film, but then there's been issues finding the right script.
Until now. Fox has confirmed, per Deadline, a new script is in the works and they are moving forward with it.
"Reports have the studio working off the Frank Miller/David Mazzucchelli story arc Born Again, as The Kingpin uncovers the superhero’s secret identity, and uses it to turn blind lawyer Matt Murdoch’s life upside down."
One of the most intriguing parts of the Born Again story is when Daredevil falls into insanity—hence the Born Again name of the story—which could make for some great on screen moments if Fox can find the right lead actor who can pull it off. Actor Taylor Kitsch (Gambit, John Carter) has been rumored to be up for the lead roll, but Kitsch has also said he wants to reprise is role as Gambit in future X-Men film for Fox.
