Tron: Legacy writers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis presented some information on the next Tron film at WonderCon this weekend regarding possible plot lines and the outcome of Kevin Flynn at the end of the last film.
"We are working on a sequel, Horowitz said to io9.com. "Eddie and I aren't writing the sequel—because of the show [Once Upon a Time] we've moved to be co-producers on it. But there's a script being written right now."
Pre-production should begin soon and once director Joe Kosinski s done with his current project.
"Dave DiGilio is writing it," Kitsis continued saying. "Joe [Kosinski] is right now shooting Oblivion but we've had a lot of meetings and conversations and we've sen the first draft of the Tron sequel, sometimes movies don't happen as quickly as you want... Our hope is to get something going sooner [rather than later]."
What about Jeff Bridges character and Tron himself?
"I would say the definition of life and death in the digital realm...," Horowitz said.
"...will be explored in the sequel," as Kitsis finished Horowitz's sentence.
Sadly, fans of the second film who loved Olivia Wilde's portrayal of Quorra, may not get to see her reprise her role since both writers dodged a specific question about her. Or maybe that's a sign she is indeed being written into the next script.
