Star Wars Identities The Exhibition to Open on April 19 in Montreal

While die-hard fans may be less than thrilled with some of the recent additions to the Star Wars universe, they can rest assured that 2012 will bring at least one new addition that should not taint the popular franchise.

Debuting on April 19 in Montreal, Canada, Star War Identities: The Exhibition promises to give fans a unique interactive experience unlike any other.

Lucasfilm Ltd. has partnered with X3 Productions to create the exhibit, which explores ten components of personal identity, both in the real world and in the Star Wars universe. According to research, these ten components are species, genes, parents, parents, culture, mentors, friends, marking events, occupation, personality and values.

Fans will be able to explore the development of key Star Wars characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Boba Fett as broken down in to three themes: Origins, Influences and Choices. Since the exhibit is also designed to educate, visitors will have an opportunity to learn a little bit about themselves through an interactive identity quest that spans the entire visit.

According to Kyra Bowling, Exhibits Manager at Lucasfilm Ltd., "the Star Wars saga continues to captivate audiences who find connection to its richly diverse cast of wonderful characters. Star Wars provides a natural lens through which to explore the themes of personal identity and character. This innovative exhibition lets visitors of all ages investigate, in a fun and educational way, the factors and forces that help shape who we are as individuals."

While the potential to explore the themes of identity may interest some visitors, for many fans, the exhibit will be all about the Star Wars.

A large, exclusive collection of over 200 items from the Lucasfilm archives will be on display, including costumes, props, models and artwork from all six films and The Clone Wars animated series.

While little information is currently available as to what the exhibit actually entails, the intrigue is part of the allure. Fans seeking a chance to immerse themselves in George Lucas' popular world may leave understanding a little bit more about this one as well.
