This quick review of The New 52 Aquaman No. 1 may be several months late, but better late than never with a take on an old superhero which was fresh and surprising.
It was also funny.
Writer Geoff Johns really nailed the re-launch of Aquaman in a way that is hard to put into words while not spoiling the entertainment factor of this book.
The best way to put it is to say Aquaman is the same old guy fans and readers have known from over the years but there is a twist and the twist comes in how everyone around Aquaman views him as a superhero.
He is viewed as "that guy" and that is all that can be said.
Bottom line this book is a must buy and must read so go out to your local comic book store and see if they still have it in stock because the hardcover isn't scheduled for release until later this year, in September.
