DC Studios Announces 2 New Animated Series -- JOKER: LAUGH RIOT and ABSOLUTE BATMAN

DC Studios has revealed two new animated series projects that are in development, per Polygon.

JOKER: LAUGH RIOT synopsis:

"In Joker: Laugh Riot, Batman is murdered and the Clown Prince of Crime goes on a ruthless crusade through Gotham’s underworld to try to find his killer. Joker becomes more vigilante than villain, and has to figure out who he is without his greatest adversary. Maybe he’ll take a page from the Joker in Harley Quinn, who gave up crime for a while to become mayor of Gotham. Yasuhiro Aoki (Batman: Gotham Knight, ChaO) directs the series, with Batman: Gotham by Gaslight and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths writer Jim Krieg serving as executive producer."

And here's the synopsis of ABSOLUTE BATMAN:

"Absolute Batman boldly reinvents the Batman mythos for a new generation of fans, reimagining the Dark Knight as a working-class hero up against impossible odds (and the most terrifying foes ever), on a mission to prove that even in an era of wealth, power and corruption, one good person can change the world.

"No manor, no money... all Batman. When you take away the manor, the money, the advantages, what you’re left with is something absolute."

No official release date or timeline for potential release has been revealed yet by DC Studios.
