Marvel Studios Continues to Shift Release Dates Moving SPIDER-MAN, DOCTOR STRANGE, and THOR

Three weeks ago, Marvel Studios slid back each of its superhero movie releases one release date slot that was already reserved for their next phase of films. Further shifting was expected as their co-produced sequel to SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME did not shift when the other films did.

Now, Sony and Marvel Studios has agreed to slide the summer 2021 release of the SPIDER-MAN THREEQUEL to a November 5, 2021 release date.

However, this date was previously the new release of DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS. So the Doctor's sequel has again been pushed back to releasing after THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER. The Doctor Strange sequel will hit theaters on March 25, 2022.

Meanwhile, THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER has moved its release up one week and will now debut on February 11, 2022.

What this means is that Marvel Studios will have four movie releases set in 2022 all releasing within six months of each other from February through July. Honestly, this feels like more shifts will be coming because too many Marvel Studios releases bunched together so tightly could hurt box office results more than help it, although, it might not matter since the studio brand is the strongest in the movie biz.

Still though... expect more shifts to be announced by Marvel Studios as release dates as very fluid right now while the world deals with a health crisis and uncertainty remains about when Hollywood productions will even have a chance to begin filming.

Here is the new, updated, look at Marvel Studios' release schedule as of right now:
