Harrison Ford Confirms INDIANA JONES 5 Begins Filming This Summer

Disney and Lucasfilm's attempts at making another INDIANA JONES movie has seen delays several times over the past few years, since Disney has owned the property. Star Wars was Disney's big focus after their purchase of Lucasfilm, but now that the Skywalker Saga has ended and Star Wars is focusing more on series for the Disney+ streaming service, now is the time for Indy's big screen comeback (again).

Previously, INDIANA JONES 5 had been confirmed to have actor Harrison Ford returning to the fedora as well as director Steven Spielberg back at the helm. A release date for this summer was in place for a while, but removed due to development delays with the project.

But now, Ford has confirmed that INDIANA JONES 5 will in fact begin filming this summer during a visit to Ellen DeGeneres' show (via THR).

"When we have an opportunity to make another, it is because people have enjoyed them," Ford said. "I feel obliged to make sure our ambitions are as ambitious as they were when we started."

There is currently no release date set for INDIANA JONES 5, but if principle photography starts this summer then a release date announcement should be happening very soon.
