Zachary Levi Says He Won't Face Black Adam Until SHAZAM! 3

SHAZAM! is a movie that Warner Bros. executives were very happy with and are moving forward with a sequel. In the first film, many fans were hoping the villain Black Adam (to be played by The Rock) would make a cameo, but that didn't happen so fans have been hopeful for a big battle between these two in SHAZAM! 2.

Unfortunately, according to Zachary Levi (via ComicBook), Black Adam won't be in the SHAZAM! sequel.

"I can say that as far as I know, Black Adam is not going to be in the second Shazam!, because the idea is that they want to go and do a standalone Black Adam movie first. And then ... if we do a third Shazam! ... that’s where we would [meet]. Because he’s like the ultimate bad guy ... Like [Shazam and] Black Adam, they’re doppelgängers right, the evil twin to who I am.

"So that’s got to be like the final battle."

To recap what Levi is saying here, there's gonna be a BLACK ADAM movie and SHAZAM! 2 first and in order to build these two characters up for an eventual showdown in SHAZAM! 3.

SHAZAM! 2 is currently in development and BLACK ADAM has been in-the-works for a nearly a half-decade ever since The Rock was cast in the villain role back in September 2014.
