Sony Removes SILVER & BLACK From its Release Date as it Goes Back into Development

Sony Pictures has the live action movie rights for all-things Spider-Man. Their partnership deal with Marvel Studios allows Spidey to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, yet Sony is also moving forward with several non-MCU canon Spider-Man spin-offs.

This October, Sony is releasing VENOM, starring Tom Hardy, and the studio has had another movie project in the works with SILVER & BLACK.

SILVER & BLACK would star and feature the Marvel characters Silver Sable and Black Cat, but according to Deadline the project has been removed from its February 8, 2019 release date and reverted back into development.

A script re-write is being reported by Deadline, although it is not specified if it is a Page 1 re-write, which would mean the old script would be thrown out and a new one would be needed. However, Collider reports it is in fact a Page 1 re-write as the project is starting over from scratch.
