Discussions of Bringing MS. MARVEL into the MCU Confirmed by Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige

Marvel Studios has been strong in the area of female supporting characters throughout their 19 film releases, but they've been taking a long time to get a female into their movie title card marquee.

Warner Bros. swung for the fences last summer releasing WONDER WOMAN and broke through the glass ceiling for women in Hollywood, as it was a critical and financial success.

This summer Marvel Studios begins to catch up to their cinematic super hero competition when actress Evangline Lilly co-headlines the sequel to ANT-MAN in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP. Then, in March 2019, the studio will finally release their first solo female-led feature film when actress Brie Larson stars in the title role of CAPTAIN MARVEL, as Carol Danvers.

Currently, Marvel Studios is developing a solo movie for actress Scarlett Johansson's BLACK WIDOW but studio head Kevin Feige has now assured another big name female comic book character will be making her way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe after CAPTAIN MARVEL debuts next year.

While speaking with the BBC, via io9, Feige confirmed comic book super hero Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel does have a future in the MCU sooner than later.

“Captain Marvel’s shooting right now with Brie Larson. Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort of in the works. We have plans for that once we’ve introduced Captain Marvel to the world.”
