No Surprise... Marvel Studios Head Confirms BLACK PANTHER Sequel

This should surprise nobody as BLACK PANTHER prepares to breakthrough the $1 billion worldwide mark this weekend. Especially since past Marvel Studios films who did not break $1 billion worldwide were greenlit for sequels taking in much less box office cash.

But news is news and studio head Kevin Feige has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that BLACK PANTHER will in fact get a sequel.

"[EW:] What can you tell us about plans for a Black Panther sequel?
[Feige:] Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that. One of the favorite pastimes at Marvel Studios is sitting around on a Part One and talking and dreaming about what we would do in a Part Two. There have been plenty of those conversations as we were putting together the first Black Panther. We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one."

Whether or not co-writer and director Ryan Coogler will return to helm the sequel remains unknown right now. However, if there was talks about a sequel during the production of the first film, then it seems to imply Coogler could in fact return to Wakanda for another round.
