SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Writers Will Return For its Sequel



SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING has made over $737 million in the worldwide box office so far and it is looking to get a big bump to its total as soon as it opens in China, on September 8. In the meantime, The Hollywood Reporter has gotten word that Sony and Marvel Studios are doing everything in their power to maintain the creative team for its sequel.

Screenwriters Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers will return to pen the 2019 sequel, according to the THR report along with Jon Watts currently in talks to return and direct it.

According to Tom Holland, via Collider, the sequel to SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING is set to begin filming in summer 2018 and releases in the U.S. on July 5, 2019.
