WONDER WOMAN is the Highest Grossing Female Directed Movie Ever; Surpasses BATMAN V. SUPERMAN Domestic Take



Batman and Superman are now feeling the effects of real girl power as WONDER WOMAN is officially the highest grossing DC Extended Universe movie, domestically.

Diana of Themyscira's first big screen solo movie has officially surpassed BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE in domestic box office ticket sales further proving a leading female superhero movie can succeed at the highest level in the both the superhero genre as well as in movie industry. WONDER WOMAN has taken in $330.5 million (so far) with BATMAN V. SUPERMAN now sitting at $330.3 million. Rounding out the other DCEU films' domestic totals: SUICIDE SQUAD brought in $325.1M and MAN OF STEEL took in $291M.

In fact, WONDER WOMAN is the highest grossing female directed movie of all-time surpassing the total of the previous record holder KUNG FU PANDA 2. WONDER WOMAN now has over $666M compared to the $665M of KUNG FU PANDA 2. Congrats to director Patty Jenkins and her production crew!

This weekend WONDER WOMAN will surpass the worldwide box office total of MAN OF STEEL ($668M) but it's still behind the worldwide totals of BATMAN V. SUPERMAN ($873M) and SUICIDE SQUAD ($745M).
