Star Wars Holiday Releases No More: Warner Bros. to Take Over December as WONDER WOMAN 2 Hits in 2019

With all the success of WONDER WOMAN, to the tune of over $740 million in the worldwide box office, Warner Bros. has green lit its sequel which will see director Patty Jenkins returning to the director chair once studio negotiations with her reps have completed.

WONDER WOMAN 2 will officially release on December 13, 2019 making it the second holiday season in a row for a DCEU release, after AQUAMAN releases in December 2018.

For some reason Lucasfilm decided to forgo their hold on the holiday movie season even though STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS made over $2 billion worldwide and ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY made over $1 billion. Their movie releases will be moving back to a May release starting with 2018's HAN SOLO Star Wars movie.

This December's STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI seems to be the last Star Wars movie you and your family and friends will enjoy during the holiday season as Warner Bros. and their DC Extended Universe movies are set to take over the holiday season starting in 2018.

Honestly, Star Wars during the holidays started to feel right but after The Last Jedi comes out this December moviegoers will have to adjust to celebrating DC superheroes with friends and family.
