Batman No More: Ben Affleck's Future in the DCEU is Reportedly Doubtful Beyond JUSTICE LEAGUE

Someday Warner Bros. won't have so much drama surrounding their Batman franchise in the DC Extended Universe. There's been so much drama surrounding it since actor Ben Affleck took on the role, it is time to come to terms with the fact that it seems like the Batman might be better without him.

In fact, this seems like exactly what is happening as The Hollywood Reporter says there is a lot of doubt surrounding Affleck as Batman moving forward.

"...[A] source with knowledge of the situation says that the studio is working on plans to usher out Affleck’s Batman — gracefully, addressing the change in some shape or form in one of the upcoming DC films."

Matt Reeves, director of the next BATMAN solo movie, which might not be called THE BATMAN anymore, has already scrapped Affleck's script and he also said he has plans for a trilogy of films featuring the Caped Crusader. In this scenario, Affleck isn't getting any younger so the thought here is to send him off and bring in a younger Batman for the DCEU.

How this will happen and which DC character could don the cape and cowl is unknown. Plus, not having Bruce Wayne as Batman on the big screen could sour a lot of hardcore Batman and DC fans so Warner Bros. needs to tread lightly on this matter even though it sounds like serious change to the role of Batman is inevitably coming.

Affleck hasn't been a bad Batman, but he hasn't been great either, especially considering all the constant drama that has surrounded him in the role since he took it on for BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DANW OF JUSTICE. It kind of feels like the best for all involved is to move on and go in another direction with the character.
