THOR: RAGNAROK is Marvel Studios and Disney's Most Watched Trailer in its First 24 Hours of Release

Did you see the first teaser trailer for THOR: RAGNAROK? If not, take a moment and watch it by clicking right here.

However, you most likley did see it once, twice, three times and probably more as The Hollywood Reporter has news that the THOR: RAGNAROK teaser has been watched more than any Disney-owned trailer ever. Let me emphasize that last part... EVER.

According to THR, fans watched the THOR: RAGNAROK trailer 136 million times in its first 24 hours of release. This is more than previous company record-holder THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (127 million), STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS (112 million) and CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (94 million).

Some fans thought the new teaser felt like a trailer for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 but let's be honest in stating the obvious about that thought: The GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY established the tone and feel of the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The gladiator planet of Sakaar has been confirmed to be in the cosmos, hence the similar tone and feel previously established in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY.

To put this accomplishment into greater perspective, the first teaser trailer for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 was viewed 81 million times in its first 24 hours of release. So yeah... it's safe to say fans everywhere are embracing the new look and feel of the third Thor movie in a big way. Plus, it helps to have a Hulk as well as the Marvel Studios' first female movie villain, Hela.

Until Disney and Lucasfilm release the first trailer for STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI, at Star Wars Celebration Orlando this Friday during the big panel, THOR: RAGNAROK can enjoy this moment for a few more days.

THOR: RAGNAROK releases in the U.S. on November 3.
