SUICIDE SQUAD 2 Begins Negotiations With Screenwriter

Even though it was panned by critics, SUICIDE SQUAD still brought in $745 million worldwide on a reported production budget of $175 million. When a movie makes that much profit, especially with mediocre word-of-mouth buzz, a sequel will be made. This is exactly what went down as Warner Bros. is moving forward with SUICIDE SQUAD 2 even though they will not bring back director David Ayer, who has chosen to helm the female villain ensemble spin-off GOTHAN CITY SIRENS instead.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has entered negotiations with screenwriter Adam Cozad to write the script for the sequel. Cozad has written the scripts for THE LEGEND OF TARZAN and JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT.

No director has been hired, but Warner Bros. has been in talks with Mel Gibson to potentially to helm SUICIDE SQUAD 2.
