JESSICA JONES Season 2 and DAREDEVIL Season 3 Probably Aren't Coming Until 2018; PUNISHER Too, Maybe

Marvel fans will have to be patient for the next rounds of JESSICA JONES and DAREDEVIL as well as for the first Netflix and Marvel spin-off PUNISHER. JESSICA JONES Season 2 was announced a few months back, a spin-off series for PUNISHER was announced just a few weeks ago and DAREDEVIL Season 3 was officially confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 last week.

Unfortunately for fans, but great for each's development process, the timeline for these upcoming seasons won't be rushed. Netflix and Marvel TV are focused on post-production for LUKE CAGE and its September 30 premiere right now, filming IRON FIST currently and then later this year they will begin shooting THE DEFENDERS team-up mini-series. IRON FIST and THE DEFENDERS are coming out sometime in the second and fourth quarters of 2017, respectively.

This leaves JESSICA JONES Season 2 and DAREDEVIL Season 3 for 2018 and PUNISHER may not come out until after that. Perhaps 2019. Here's an update on the Netflix and Marvel timeline from an Entertainment Weekly reporter.

The current production schedule for Marvel TV this year is pretty much solidified, however, there could be a chance Marvel and Netflix begin producing three show releases per year and maybe 2018 will see this happen with JESSICA JONES Season 2, DAREDEVIL Season 3 and PUNISHER all having a chance to release in the same calendar year.

Marvel Studios begins putting out three movies per year starting in 2017 and Marvel TV could follow suit on Netflix in 2018. (Yes, that is our own speculation and not a scoop.)
