Super Hero TV Updates: AGENT CARTER Canceled, SUPERGIRL Moves, POWERLESS Gets Picked Up and More

Yesterday was TV's version of "The Red Wedding" as networks made decisions for shows that don't have top-tier ratings and viewers numbers.

Renewed - These shows were already green lit for a new season weeks, or even months, ago: AGENTS OF SHIELD Season 4, GOTHAM Season 3, ARROW Season 5, THE FLASH Season 3 and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 2. These shows are running strong enough were networks felt comfortable in moving forward before today's deadline.

In a move that was rumored for weeks now, CBS passed on SUPERGIRL Season 2 but the show will continue and it is moving to The CW for its second season.

Canceled - ABC officially canceled AGENT CARTER.

New pickup - NBC picked up a new show. POWERLESS will be set within the DC comics universe, and most likely not attached to the DC Extended Universe that MAN OF STEEL and BATMAN V. SUPERMAN has established. The single-cam workplace series is the first comedy for the super hero television genre and will show the more human side of the effects from super hero battles as an insurance company's employees deal with the fallout from those epic battles.

Not picked up - ABC passed on the AGENTS OF SHIELD spin-off series MARVEL'S MOST WANTED. The latter was signed on for a pilot episode, however, ABC must not have liked it enough to move forward with it to series.
