X-MEN: APOCALYPSE - Jean Grey and Cyclops' Relationship Teased as Well as Something Darker and More Powerful

Widely known as one of the greatest couples in Marvel comics, X-Men mutants Jean Grey and Cyclops have a long relationship history with each other.  In next month's X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, the beginning of their romance will be seen on the big screen and director Bryan Singer discusses it in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
“In the beginning, she’s the last thing he’s interested in. When he first comes to the mansion, Scott’s blind so he can’t see her. Suddenly he gets some glasses and now he can see her and he’s like ‘Oh! That’sJean Grey.’ Both of them are misfits in a way. Other mutants have settled in with their powers. This is all new to Scott Summers and he doesn’t like it and he doesn’t like school. "

Singer, then, goes on to tease that which is always known to be coming when Jean Grey is concerned... the Dark Phoenix.

"And Jean she has not only has her telekenisis and her telepathy but she also knows inherently that something darker and more powerful is growing inside her and she doesn’t quite know what it is.”

It is unknown if Singer, as well as most of the cast, will continue on with more X-Men movies after Apocalypse, but many of the actors have expressed their delight to return to their roles. Although it seems evident this continuing story arc will go on as mutants like: Jean Grey, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, Storm, Psylocke and Archangel have all been brought on for this movie.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE releases on May 27.
