Is Jim Carrey Being Stretched Back into a DC Films Movie as PLASTIC MAN? [April Fools' Day 2016]

So we all already know we’ll be seeing quite the cast of DC characters in the expanding DC Extended Universe courtesy of BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE. True believers of the DCEU have been thinking big picture, and there isn’t much of a bigger picture in all of DC than the Justice League.

We already have our heavy hitters...Batman, Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman and even the recently announced Amber Heard as Mera. But who else is being discussed and who can we expect? With as big of a universe as the fans can expect in JUSTICE LEAGUE, we’re bound to see some familiar faces here and there.

Maybe snippets of certain members of the Suicide Squad?

Perhaps a Teen Titan or two?

Or a member of Justice League Dark?

We at The Daily Superhero may have a leak for one of the heroes we’ll be seeing in the upcoming Zack Snyder directed movie. But first here's some backstory...

Way back in 1996, right around the time they were plotting The Matrix into what would become one of the most successful movies of all time, the Wachowskis wrote a script for a DC Comics hero, Plastic Man. Many problems arose with the Wachowski's version of the story; Patrick “Eel” O’Brian was now David O’Brian. Instead of a thug and safecracker, he’s now an environmentalist who confronts litterbugs on the street and breaks into industrial labs to release research animals. Instead of gaining his powers after being doused with chemicals during a heist he breaks into an evil industrialist’s headquarters, is captured and used as a test subject for some experimental high tech plastic surgery research.

Despite being pulled off the shelf again in 2009, changes to the origin story, money problems and the issue of who would play the leading man, including Keanu Reeves and Bruce Campbell, kept the project in development purgatory. Rumors even began circulating David Tennant had been offered the role of Plastic Man in 2013 for a Justice League film, but we all know after his amazing performance as Kilgrave in JESSICA JONES he’s fine just where he’s at.

But my how plans change.

During the creative process of the PLASTIC MAN movie, Warner Bros. tested one actor who was already familiar to the comic book world. That one actor was and still is very familiar with the term “plastic-y.” That actor was Jim Carrey. Being one of the few bright spots of a rather poor Batman franchise in the early 90’s, Warner Bros. kept his name circled for a future project. Despite creative problems, other actors being rumored and over a 10-year wait, it appears Warner and the DC Cinematic Universe has finally found their Plastic Man.

And here's the first look at him from a leaked costume test image.
