INDIANA JONES 5 Has Already Found its Writer

Just days after Disney and Lucasfilm announced the return of Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg for INDIANA JONES 5, the next movie already has its writer. However, this writer might get some moans and groans from some fans on social media because it's the same guy who wrote the screenplay for INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Koepp has been brought on to write the fifth movie in the franchise — the first under Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Disney ownership. There is still no mention of George Lucas, so at least there's somewhat of a silver lining seeing as how Koepp had to write the Crystal Skull screenplay based on a story by Lucas and Jeff Nathanson. So far, Lucas and Nathanson are not involved with INDIANA JONES 5.

While Koepp did write the screenplay for the at-times-painful-to-watch Crystal Skull movie, he is a longtime collaborator with Spielberg having also written Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds. Koepp also wrote director Sam Raimi's first SPIDER-MAN movie.

INDIANA JONES 5 releases on July 19, 2019.
