X-MEN Producer Would Love to Entice Hugh Jackman to Continue as WOLVERINE

It's no secret that actor Hugh Jackman is currently planning to have next year's WOLVERINE 3 movie as his last turn as Logan. As sad as this may sound, it sounds pretty definitive as of the publishing of this post.

However, things can and sometimes do change when it comes to actors and reprise their roles as beloved characters. Robert Downey Jr. has re-signed on for more Marvel Studios films as Tony Stark and Iron Man so it is not impossible to assume that Jackman could have a change of heart too.

But as of right now, Jackman will don the claws one last time in WOLVERINE 3 and the website DigitalSpy spoke to X-Men producer Simon Kinberg about the topic of eventually having to recast Jackman.

"I do think you would want to figure out how to tell more Wolverine stories. So either we would try to entice Hugh to come back and eat more chicken and work out for a few months, or we would have to figure out a creative way to move forward. Honestly, I can't imagine anybody else playing the part, and there's not too many characters I can say that for."

This quote really doesn't give any answer as to the future of Wolverine but there's always the thought that Fox could introduce X-23 for a few films to sort of fill the void left open by Jackman's leave until the perfect actor can be found as a replacement for Wolverine.

In the meantime, there's been rumors circulating around the web that Wolverine might have a cameo in DEADPOOL and in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE.
