LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Wish List: 5 Characters Who Need to Appear

The CW recently made the announcement that Matt Nable a.k.a. The Demon’s Head himself, Ra’s al Ghul, will be making an appearance on an episode of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. I’m sure that announcement, along with the rumors we could be seeing such characters as Constantine and Jonah Hex show up this season makes you wonder... Just how big of a roster is the CW and DC prepared to draft for this upcoming season and beyond?

If the first season finishes just as strong as CW mainstays THE FLASH and ARROW, chances are we will have a pretty full team of legends once Season 2 rolls around. That being said, let’s take a look at my 5 wish- list characters to appear on this season of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW.

  1. A member of the Bat Family. Now we all know were not getting ole Bruce himself. But if they’re going to mention “Dark Knights” in the trailer, why couldn’t we get someone from Batman’s gang of crime fighters? Oracle would make sense, with the new announcement of a live-action version of Vixen set to debut on Arrow, Birds of Prey anyone? But why not characters like Red Robin or even Bat-Wing? Someone new who’s most likely not a priority for the upcoming Batfleck movies would not only be easy due to the time-travel element, but it would be fun. I’d even settle for Alfred!
  2. Supergirl IF and only if THE FLASH and SUPERGIRL cross over episodes happen, then I think this could work. Not to bash the current CBS show, but I think including Super-girl into the CW fray could be a double edged sword. But if the crossover does succeed, I think bringing SG in for an episode or two where the team may need “some extra muscle” could make for some excellent television. Plus, like above, if “Men of Steel” would get a mention in the trailer, who knows what could happen?
  3. Static Shock. We all know Virgil is already loved by the fans. We also all know there have been rumblings about a live-action version of Static. We also all know none of us want Jaden Smith to play Virgil. But this could be the perfect way to bring this fan-favorite cartoon off the shelf. Either as a meta-human in Barry Allen’s world or through time-travel, there’s no way including Static wouldn’t bring a shock to our systems.
  4. The Suicide Squad or any 2.0 versions of previously seen properties. One of my personal favorite moments of the current CW DC shows has been all of the Suicide Squad moments from Arrow. It really is such a brilliant concept. Bad guys doing supposedly good things, something bad/awesome is always going to happen. With the differences in DC TV and Film, besides the trinity and the big Justice League members, no character really is sacred. Who knows, DC may even like the publicity with their Suicide Squad film coming out shortly. A Task Force X from Earth-2 with new or weathered members getting in the way of our team of legends sounds perfect to me. Future or past members of former DC characters we’ve already seen could be great too. Can you say, “completely gray-haired version of Slade Wilson?”
  5. Two-for-one wildcard pick... Dr. Fate and The Question. Now these last two...yes it’s a stretch but it could work. We know that DC isn’t afraid to play with the character of Dr. Fate. He was seen in Smallville and he was teased on the CONSTANTINE TV show. Also, with the rumors that Constantine himself may join the ranks of season 2; why not dip into the magic even more? Dr. Fate would be an interesting addition, especially if our main cast members start messing with their own fates and the universes time frame.

I also think The Question would be great as well. He would easily fit into the gritty/borderline realism aspect of Arrow. But I also think the character could be stripped down a bit in a positive aspect. Maybe they don’t make The Question a good guy, but also not a villain either, more or less just a compelling character. It would be very fun to see that investigative reporter who digs into something such as Oliver Queen’s role as mayor or the “death” of Ray Palmer. Plus, that face would just be flat out cool to see on TV.
