Marvel Studios Announces 'ANT-MAN AND THE WASP' Sequel; Moves BLACK PANTHER Up and Pushes CAPTAIN MARVEL Back

"The sequel will mark the first Marvel Studios film named after its heroine."

It's the start of New York Comic Con 2015 and Marvel Studios felt the need to grab the headlines on Day 1 even though they're not present at NYCC. And they may have themselves the biggest headline of the event as they announced a sequel to ANT-MAN is coming in 2018.

Officially titled ANT-MAN AND THE WASP, Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne will return on July 6, 2018. If that release date sounds familiar, it should. It was previously held by BLACK PANTHER and Marvel has moved up BLACK PANTHER and it hits theaters on February 16, 2018.

However, CAPTAIN MARVEL needed to give way to 2018 and was moved back. So fans will have to wait a little longer since its release is five months later on March 8, 2019.
