X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST ROGUE CUT Review - Logical Plot Line Added and it Doesn't Change the Final Outcome

This post contains additional footage spoilers.

Approximately 17 extra minutes was added to the X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST ROGUE CUT. But it didn't feel like that much because it was seamlessly edited into the original film cut.

Sure, the extra footage added some new elements toward the end of the movie. Iceman and Magneto went to rescue Rogue, who then took Kitty Pryde's power to keep Wolverine in the past. Kitty was pretty much bleeding to death after being slashed by adamantium claws and bringing Rogue in made perfect sense.

The biggest change was to Iceman's death. He perished during the rescue mission for Rogue and sacrificed himself for the greater cause of rewriting time. An honorable ending that is really the biggest highlight of the additional footage.

Did the extra scenes help the original movie cut? Sure because it didn't change the story and actually added a logical plot line to the struggle in the future timeline. But you can also tell why it was cut because it really didn't matter which version of the film was released because the conclusion of the film was exactly the same.

The ROGUE CUT is what it is... an add-on like how a game developer produces additional downloadable content for a video game a year after it's been released. It's cool to see more, but it's never really as satisfying as you hoped it would be.
