This should get you excited because there's been some fan buzz that PUNISHER should really get his own Netflix show after he is introduced in DAREDEVIL Season 2. Now, according to IGN, Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos has thrown some gasoline on it that fire.
“It is possible for sure," Sarandos said regarding PUNISHER getting his own series. "That’s the beauty of the Marvel universe. Any of them could spin out into films too."
Saying nothing or saying it won't happen at the moment is one way to shut down the rumors, but to say it's possible is a big clue that both Netflix and Marvel really like what they are getting out of actor Jon Bernthal while filming DAREDEVIL Season 2. Also, the idea a movie could spin out of a Netflix show is something to consider but when it comes to the PUNISHER, his best fit is on Netflix.
If PUNISHER can spin-off into his own Netflix series, after DAREDEVIL Season 2, it may move the release timeline back a little, but would anyone care if it meant PUNISHER gets his own show? I wouldn't care one bit.
